The weekend kick-started on a very high note last night as Disney + ushered us into a ball of fun at the Prison Break Market, in collaboration with Quiz SA. Influencers and Celebrities gathered at this prestige high end venue answering different questions on the channel’s various shows, from The Kardashians to Avatar and Indiana Jones movies. So if you really thought you knew Disney Plus, take a moment and regather your facts as the Quiz kept everyone on their toes, trying to figure out the correct answer.
This fabulous night themed Half and Half saw attendees channeling their own Disney + characters, it is really heart warming when guests adhere to the theme and pull all the stops in attempt to look ravishing. My personal favourites was the incredible choreographer and dancer Bontle Modiselle and Chanley Wang who made sure they pull the star black issue quite well, ate and left no crumbs.
The quintessential Disney+ blue carpet was packed with style as influencers kept snapping, Moghellings starring the carpet amongst others Lasizwe Dambuza and brother Lungile. Holding down the show from start to finish was the awesome Mpho Pops, a comedy champion who kept the night easy with his amazing jokes. Well I have to say that goodie bags are always a thrill at any event, the reversable black and grey jacket that Disney+ gave us was really a great surprise.
As my team and I walked in to capture the night, I found it really great that you get to spin a rumble and whatever number comes out, that would be your table, 156 was ours and we got to sit at “Haunted Mansion”, sounds scary right? but believe me this gave a whole new definition of “haunted” as the table was full of fun cheer.
They say sharing is caring, this was indeed evident to be true last night as guests kept helping each other with answers to the complex Quiz questions, which I found so hard to answer, I am one of those that need to go regather their facts on Disney + and try again in the next Quiz event.
” We’re breaking new ground by featuring trending new shows while also offering beloved series from 20-30 years ago. There’s a fascinating psychology around re-runs, rooted in nostalgia and comfort, that we’re eager to tap into. The quiz events were a fun, sociable way to connect with our audience and celebrate the stories that have shaped generations”, Jarryd, Marketing Director of Disney SA
The next Disney + Quiz event is happening in Cape Town tonight, and promises to be a huge success just like the Johannesburg leg.
” Whether you’re a fan of Marvel’s epic adventures, Pixar’s heartwarming tales, Star Wars’ legendary sagas, or National Geographic’s epic explorations, there’s classics, offering a trove of beloved series that resonate deeply with South African audiences. From the medical dramas of Grey’s Anatomy to the comedic antics of Modern Family, the intense investigations of Criminal Minds, and the animated hilarity of Family Guy, there is definitely something on offer for everyone” said the channel in a statement that was released yesterday, inviting everyone hop into binge watching all their amazing offerings of series, and movies.
