South Africa is set to welcome one of the UK’s most celebrated culinary talents, Jameson Stocks, for an exclusive series of cooking demonstrations and a personal exploration of South African cuisine. Born in Leeds in 1983, Chef Jameson has gained international acclaim for creating some of the most memorable meals ever enjoyed in the United Kingdom. Stock’s received his training at the prestigious Oakroom – formerly a three-Michelin-star restaurant helmed by Marco Pierre White, followed by a decade of working in 2 and 3 Michelin Star restaurants across London and Europe. His visit marks a special opportunity for South Africans to experience his culinary mastery firsthand.

Jameson Stocks’ career has been nothing short of remarkable. By the age of 24, he became the youngest recipient of The National Restaurant of the Year award, and his dishes have been praised by world-renowned food critic Joanna Blythman. Her glowing 10/10 review described his craft as “Each mouthful seemed to wake up the appetite and offer flavours to engage the mind and palate,” placing him in the company of culinary greats like Gordon Ramsay and Michel Roux.

Chef Jameson has cooked for some of the world’s most prominent figures, and his work has been showcased on global television programs, including MasterChef and Cake Boss on TLC, along with appearances on CNN, ITV, NBC, and Channel 4 in the UK. As an ambassador for The Prince’s Trust for over a decade, he has used his influence to support young people in building better futures.

Jameson’s success is not only culinary but deeply personal. Having left home at the age of 13 due to a very abusive homelife, Jameson lived on the streets and in shopfronts until he was 16 years old and was offered the opportunity to work in one the country’s leading restaurants. “I had always had a love of cooking, so when I turned 16 I went from one top restaurant to the next asking for work,” explains Stocks. “I was very luck to be taken in by the world-renowned, Marco Pierre White at the Oakroom, where I learnt everything I could.” After taking a break from the public eye in 2012 due to the Leveson inquiry and press intrusion, Jameson relocated to Europe to focus on raising his two sons, Jaxon and Caiden, as a single father. During this time, he continued to refine his skills and consulted for major blue-chip companies.

Now, after returning to the UK in 2022, Jameson is working on a new cookbook and his autobiography, which will share his inspiring journey and highlight the life lessons he’s learned along the way. His resilience and ability to turn adversity into triumph are now set to be immortalized on the big screen—Brad Pitt has secured the rights to produce a biopic about his incredible life.
