When seasoned actor, producer, and fearless activist Siv Ngesi sets out to build something, the result is never ordinary — it is intentional, bold, and rooted in impact. That vision came to life with the official opening of Zuney, a new lifestyle and cultural establishment launched at its home in Rosebank, one of Johannesburg’s most vibrant creative hubs.

The launch event, held at the Zuney premises, was nothing short of a celebration. A star-studded guest list of industry friends, creatives, and top influencers gathered to witness the unveiling, filling the space with energy, style, and unmistakable support for Ngesi’s latest venture. The atmosphere reflected both celebration and purpose — a clear signal that Zuney has already secured its place within the cultural conversation.

Best known for his powerful performances on screen and his unwavering activism off it, Ngesi has expanded his influence into entrepreneurship with a space that speaks to modern African excellence. Zuney is more than an establishment; it is a curated experience designed to inspire connection, creativity, and authenticity.

From the moment guests arrived, Zuney’s identity was unmistakable. Contemporary design elements blended effortlessly with warm, welcoming textures, creating a space that feels elevated yet accessible. Every detail reflects Ngesi’s personal ethos — unapologetic, intentional, and forward-thinking.

“ I’ve been working with Zuney for many years. They have the most incredible Wagyu steaks and Wagyu bull tongue in the world, and for me, I’ve been very loyal to the brand and the two individuals who are the owners.  So when the opportunity came to be able to open up a store in Johannesburg and get involved in the brand, I jumped in,  I have never, ever thought of getting into food, but for me, I’m all about authent- authentic relationships, consistency, and for me, a Zuney burger reminds me of the person that I am. It’s bold, it’s bright, the flavors are consistent, and it’s bigger and better”

True to his activist roots, Zuney positions itself as more than a social venue. It is set to serve as a hub for collaboration, dialogue, and the amplification of emerging voices. In an era where cultural spaces are often transactional, Zuney stands out for its emphasis on meaning and inclusivity.

“when you come to Zuney, it will feel like a home. You’re not just having a burger, you’re having a family time. You’ll be called by your name the moment you walk in, so we make sure everyone feels welcome, No celebrity status needed, no social media influence needed. I think for me, Zuney adds to my brand. It makes me a better version of myself and being part of something that’s world-class.”

The presence of influential figures from across entertainment, media, and digital culture at the Rosebank launch underscored the respect and admiration Ngesi commands within the industry. Their attendance marked not just support for a friend, but belief in a vision.

To conclude Siv Ngesi says that there is no project he gets his hands on that does not speak to his principles which is giving back, and he says Zuney is a proud champion master of giving back to its communities.

“I do nothing that doesn’t give back, there’s nothing that I do that is not involved in giving back. Zuney does incredible work, that is very charitable and giving back. I’m always proud and very honored to work with them, so for me Zuney is a very charitable company that does amazing things, from the farm to the shop, everything that we do is to give back to our communities”

With Zuney now officially open, Siv Ngesi once again proves that reinvention is about expansion, not departure. As the doors open to the public, Zuney promises to be more than a destination — it is poised to become a cultural landmark where stories are shared, creativity is celebrated, and community takes centre stage.
